Tragically, Hurricane Irma has taken its toll across the state of Florida, reaching into Georgia and South Carolina. In Florida, the enormous storm left more than 10 million people without power. Though most reports indicate that Floridians may have dodged a worst-case scenario, residents and communities are beginning to assess the damage.
Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) has opened a mail box to help victims of Hurricane Irma as well as victims of all 2017 hurricanes. JFNA’s network of local and international progress serves the Jewish community and all in need quickly, effectively, and with personal care. One hundred percent of funds are dedicated to help those whose lives are affected by catastrophic flooding and damage caused by hurricanes in 2017. The mail box is https://jewishfederations.org/HurricaneIrmaRelief.
We are grateful to all who donate funds to Hurricane Harvey Relief efforts. More than $10 million has been raised from individuals, federations, foundations, and the Government of Israel ($1 million). It is estimated that rebuilding costs will total $30 million.
